Ben Del Vecchio is a writer, student, musician, filmmaker, and poet. He studies Critical Film/Media Studies at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. He graduated with honors from Phillips Academy Andover in 2015. At Andover, Ben penned weekly Film/TV column for The Phillipian, and served as Culture Editor for their Backtracks Magazine. Now, he writes for student-run, national literary magazine “The Blueshift Journal”, in a weekly Film Column entitled “Nitrate & Camphor.”

As a child, instead of restricting TV time, his parents joined him—probably too much. Ben is half-Chinese and half-Italian, and 100% proud of each. When he’s not spread too thin, he loves spinning records, watching classic cinema, short walks on the beach, praying to Buffy, defending Nicolas Cage, and writing out of the third person.
